Join Me: Two Israel Programs This June
For those who care about Israel and want to go deeper
Hello friends!
Your regular Hebrew Is Magic newsletter will come later this week. Today, I wanted to let you know about two amazing opportunities relevant to your interests in Israel:
Hebrew College
I’m thrilled to once again be teaching a 6-week course through Hebrew College called Inside Israel: Society Beyond the Headlines. We’ll explore six defining “forces” that shape the Israeli psyche and daily reality—forces that will impact the future of Israel, including the upcoming fall elections. The course starts June 16, Tuesdays at 12-1pm ET, online via Zoom. $180, financial aid available. Register at hebrewcollege.edu/inside-israel.
Peace of Mind
In just 12 days, the weekend of June 5-7, I’m teaching and performing comedy at a gathering for Peace of Mind—one of my favorite Israeli nonprofits. They provide treatment and care for IDF combat soldiers with PTSD. The weekend will feature 150 soldiers, ages 21-25, from the Golani, Paratroopers, and Armored Brigades who served in Gaza and Lebanon over the past three years and are on the road to recovery. They’ll come together at Camp Moshava in Honesdale, PA for conversations, therapy, and meetings with Peace of Mind supporters. The weekend is open to guests — so join us! It’s your chance to speak with them, ask about their service, support the work of Peace of Mind, and enjoy great comedy and a Hebrew Is Magic live session with me. Learn more at https://peaceofmind.org.il/home-english/ or write Chaim at Chaim@metiv.org.
Looking forward to seeing you later this week.
Joel
